You may have read about my always stylish and supportive friend Ivory. I can always count on her for style inspiration and wise words. One thing she taught me was to try clothes on, regardless of what the size is on the label. If it looks like it might fight, just try it on and see. Sometimes it doesn’t fit and sometimes it fits like a glove! Besides, we all know that not all fashion brands are sized the same. Some run bigger than others.
That’s how I feel about brands like Free People. They don’t offer plus sizes, but they do go up to an XL. And with the majority of their styles in a flowy silhouette—I can sometimes fit in their pieces. That’s why I took the leap and ordered this top. I can tell you that I don’t always fit in their stuff. But, it doesn’t hurt to try. Even if I really love the style.
I wore this look out to an event I covered last week with Becky G. More on that to come! I’m not normally a fan of floral print. But, this was dark enough for me and it has pockets! I’m normally a size 16/18 and I loved how this fit. You should be able to see the lace band on the arm. That might make it a snug fit on the arms, since it’s not a giving band. Just beware of that.
