I consider myself a pretty loyal girl. If I like you and you don’t do me wrong—I’ll keep you around for the long haul. That’s pretty much how it is with the beauty products in my life. Being in my line of work, I get my share of goodies. Some I adore…others…not so much. The bonus is when I love them because I feel like it’s some kind of amazing discovery. Then there are other products that come into my life via the friendly ladies at Sephora or through my amazing friends. For them, I am so very thankful.
Right now…at this very moment…here are a few beauty products that I can’t get enough of.
Carol’s Daughter Black Vanilla Moisture & Shine Shampoo & Conditioner: I just started using this set about 2 1/2 months ago and I don’t know if I can ever trust another. I may be overreacting a little, but I am on my second set. I had to go out and get myself some more! I’m always a little skeptical when I use a hair product that has “moisture” in the name. Sometimes, it’s too moisturizing or hydrating and can leave my hair looking greasy. This duo does not. In fact, I’ve found an amazing balance of moisture and shine. That’s not something I can say for a lot of shampoo and conditioners out there. If you’re wondering about the vanilla scent, it’s pretty amazing.
Josie Maran Pure Argan Milk Intensive Hydrating Treatment: Oh Josie Maran…what have you done to me? I adore what she has brought into my life. I already knew the magic of Argan Oil, but I had so many misconceptions about my aging skin (yes, my skin is considered aging). I began using this about two months this after I started using the 100 Percent Pure Argan Oil. And I honestly feel like my skin has been transformed. I have a glow I never did before and that’s because my pores seem to drink this right up. There’s no crazy fragrance, it’s lightweight, and absorbs quickly.
Josie Maran 100 Percent Pure Argan Oil: This is where it all started for me. I had been wanting to try this out for so long, but honestly I was a little thrown off by the price. Especially since the bottle is kind of tiny (it’s $48 for 1.7 oz). But, this was the best purchase yet. My skin situation has literally turned around in terms of feeling supple and soft. I didn’t have the worst skin before, but I noticed a change in it over the last year before I started using this. I feel like some of my wrinkles have softened too. They didn’t go away completely, that’s being a little too optimistic now. Not only can I use this on mhy face, but I can also use it on my hands, feet, elbows, and the ends of my hair. Basically anything that needs help in the moisture department. And remember when I was worried about the price? This tiny bottle is still going strong after four months. A little drop goes a long way!
Kevin Murphy Hair Resort: Years ago, I received a sample of this product in spray form and I basically became obsessed with it. It gave me the texturized beach waves I was looking for. After searching online, I realized it was an Australian based company and you could only find it in salons. So, I kind of gave up on the search since my mother-in-law used to cut my hair. I was also starting to straighten my locks and get blow outs—so I didn’t really need it. Then over this past summer, I went to visit my friend Toni at her salon here in Los Angeles (The Atwater Parlour, check her out). She gave me the most amazing hairstyle and I wanted a product to help me maintain my wavy hair. Oh and it had to be cruelty-free. She recommended this and I kind of almost fell out of the chair when I realized it was the same brand I had previously fallen in love with. It smells ahhhhhmazing, like I stepped right off the beach. And the 5.1 oz bottle has lasted me since the summer!
