How many times have you purchased something online because you instantly fell in love with it? But, then you get super nervous because you aren’t sure if it’s going to fit right and how it will look on you. And then when you get it, you question wearing it because it’s a super bright color that you’re not used to wearing? Yeah, I just basically described my entire situation with this gold crochet lace dress from Lane Bryant.
I will tell you that buying it was an awesome decision, because I basically want to marry it. The photos you see below were taken in Miami by my talented friend Jeshua. He was also the one who encouraged me to wear it on that day. I will admit I was hesitant because of the bright golden color. But, I figured it’s Miami and this city is used to the “wow factor.” Let me tell you, it felt great to step out of my style comfort zone!
Speaking of comfort zone—I want to introduce you guys to my amazing amiga Kathy of the Crafty Chica. She’s been venturing out of hers and trying new styles that she’s not necessarily used to wearing. I’m so proud of her style journey and doesn’t she look so amazing in her outfit from Lane Bryant? This woman is a blessing to me and I couldn’t be prouder to call her my friend.
Let us be a reminder that it’s OK to step out of that comfort zone that we’re so used to. It’s actually quite invigorating to take chances. Especially, if you feel like you’re in a style slump. Even if it’s just baby steps.
