My time in Miami has come and gone. If you follow me on social media, you might have seen that I was out at the annual Hispanicize conference. An entire week of Latino trendsetters and newsmakers in the digital space. I was sponsored by JCPenney (watch my video below) and invited to speak on a keynote panel at the inaugural DiMe Summit.
Whenever I attend a social media conference, I’m always there to learn and network. But, I will admit I love to spend time with my friends and meet new people. Just so you know, this conference was full of amazing people who were all about that personal style. You may have seen a few of my tweets and posts about some fashion and beauty trends.
A lot of the ladies attending were wearing tops and dresses in bright colors and bold prints, like florals. I saw a lot of crochet lace and statement necklaces every where. Of course my favorite beauty trend was the red lip. I saw a lot of natural curls and waves too!
As part of my partnership with JCPenney, I was invited out to their store inside the Dadeland Mall to get styled and beautified for the Hispanicize Tecla Awards. It was so much fun! First, I headed off to the fitting rooms where a stylist had pulled a few looks for me. Then it was off to the Sephora located inside JCPenney to get my makeup done. After, I made my way over to the InStyle Salon to get my hair styled.
I love shopping events like this, but I especially enjoy them because I step a little outside of my fashion comfort zone. For example, the stylist pulled a jumpsuit I might not have normally picked out for myself. And when it came to my makeup, the MUA suggested a bold smokey eye and I let her do her thing. Then I had some fun with my hair—curls and a side braid. Take a look at the video I made below and the final look.
