I’m always looking for a reason to explore one of my favorite cities in the entire world—San Francisco. I’ve been there a handful of times and always leave feeling like I still have more to explore. This time Kia invited me out to test drive the refreshed 2017 Kia Forte. And this trip, as you’ll see in my photos below, sent me along the San Francisco coast. We drove through the most picturesque places I have ever been. Can you imagine how hard it is to enjoy the view when you’re driving? It’s a good thing I’m multi-talented.
The trip started after a quick 45 minute flight from Los Angeles and a short drive over the Golden Gate Bridge to Sausalito. I was super excited to stay at the exclusive Cavallo Point Lodge. Located on what was known as Fort Baker, an old Army post, it is now officially a National Park. And I can tell you it’s stunningly beautiful with it’s Golden Gate views and relaxing rooms. After settling in, we had dinner and that’s when I found out my amiga Ada of Gypsy In The City was also on the trip. That’s when I accosted her…I mean asked her…if she’d be my co-pilot for the Kia Forte drive the next day.
Whenever I get invited to an event where we get to test drive new vehicles, I always go into it with an open mind. I can tell you that I was very impressed with this refreshed 2017 Kia Forte. And when I say “refreshed,” that means it’s not drastically different from it’s previous model. But, it’s different enough to notice the changes that have been made. The exterior design changed a little and I noticed that it’s very similar to the Kia Optima, which isn’t a bad thing. It’s priced great, starting at $16,490 and there are tons of driver options to add on. You know I’m all about the rear camera, heated seats, and satellite radio. Some of my favorites and perfect for road trips.
After breakfast, my co-pilot/navigator Ada and I drove comfortably through the small town of Sausalito and up the coast. You’ll be happy to know that these cars do great on windy roads. We stopped a lot of times to take photos too, which you’ll see below. We couldn’t help it. Everything was so beautiful. And yes, the Kia Forte does amazing when it comes to gas mileage.
Our journey took us through small seaside towns, beautiful sea cliffs, and even added a touch of redwood trees to the mix. And it led us back to the Golden Gate Bridge, where we started. It was so nice to get out Los Angeles and take in the fresh air. This was a trip I won’t forget. Make sure you take a second to check out Ada’s personal recap of the Kia Forte experience.
