Gratefully 40

I’ve started this post a dozen times so far. Only to erase every word and start all over again. Maybe I was waiting for my lightbulb moment or some kind of epiphany. Wasn’t I supposed to wake up more confident? Where’s all that knowledge they talk about?

I used to wonder why everyone freaked out about turning 40. Often described as the “Big 4-Oh” or being “Over the Hill”—I guess it is kind of a big deal. Never mind the birthday parties where everything is decorated in black and tombstones are used as props. Why should turning 40 …

Sleeping Peacefully with Big Fig Mattress

I could barely keep my heavy eyes open. The level of exhaustion was unreal. All I wanted to do was just fall into my bed and sleep. But, no. There I was on a plane for what seemed like the millionth time in a month. Actually, it was only my fourth time. I had planned a lot of traveling in the last few months…on purpose. And all I could think about as I finally headed home was sleeping in my own bed (maybe in my favorite cat PJ’s).

Raise your hand if all you want in life is a …

Mother’s Day Giveaway New York & Company and St. Jude (Closed)

I’m a St. Jude Blogger.

Let’s get this out in the open. I’m not the athlete I used to be. In fact, I barely work out anymore. But, that didn’t stop me from signing up to walk a 5K in Nashville, all while raising money for the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. It just so happened that weeks after signing up, I was invited to join the St. Jude Bloggers tour. A complete coincidence and a total honor for me.

I won’t go into much detail, because I’m going to write …

A New York Minute

By Posted on 0

Born with wanderlust in my blood, traveling gives me a freedom to be who I truly am. No it’s not perfect. In a world of delays and constraints, I don’t always get to do what I want. But sometimes, I get lucky and get invited to some pretty cool experiences. Sometimes they land me in New York City—one of my favorite urban hangouts. Even if it’s only for a few days…AKA a New York minute.

My latest NYC excursion was courtesy of Kia. They sent me out to the New York Auto Show to take a peek at …

Hispanicize 2017 | Community and More

In the 9 years that I’ve been a blogger and social media influencer, there is one thing that remains constant in this space—and that is community. More than anything, I am grateful for people who not only “get” what I do, but also have the same passion for it. They offer support unlike any other because they understand. And that can be a breath of fresh air.

For the past six years, I have been attending Hispanicize. This annual event is not only home to thousands of Latino trendsetters and newsmakers, but this is my …

My ‘Real’ Red Carpet Tips

This is part of a sponsored collaboration with JCPenney and DiMe Media. However, all opinions expressed are my own.

Everyone will have a red carpet moment sometime in their life. This could be any kind of standout life kind of experience. One that will have you shining no matter who you’re with or where you are. And in case you’re wondering, it doesn’t always have to involve an actual red carpet. But having one doesn’t hurt. I’m just saying.

Recently I was in Miami for the annual Hispancize event. Not only was …

Style Trend Rocking Rainbow

By Posted on 0

There are million reasons to love rainbows. Maybe you’re secretly hoping you’ll find a pot of gold at the end of one. You have to love the wishful thinkers. When I think of them, they remind me of TV shows from when I was a kid. Two of my favorites were Mork & Mindy and Rainbow Bright. Unless you’re my age, you’re probably going to have to Google them. I officially feel old now.

Whatever reason you love rainbows, I’m going to give you a few more…like 19 to be specific. I found a few things that caught …

Travel Arizona Road Tripping with Toyota

I’ve been traveling to Arizona since I can remember. My family’s roots lie deep in Tucson. As a kid my mom would send my brother and I out to spend our summer’s and school vacations with my Grandma Lucy. I can still smell her homemade flour tortillas. To say I have a connection with the desert is an understatement. That’s why my heart skipped a beat when Toyota invited me out to road trip it to Phoenix for some spring training baseball. It’s like they just knew that this experience was made just for me.

Nevermind …
